Calorie
Dieting - How to Safely Diet Without Starving
Yourself
As you plan a diet, keep in mind that
calorie dieting isn’t the answer for slimming down. In
fact, it’s just a waste of time, and you need to think
twice before reducing your calorie intake too much.
So many people get excited over a low calorie
dieting program, thinking it will help them lose a lot of
weight in a short period of time, only to be disappointed in
the end. After just a couple of weeks, they realize that
they are wasting their time. They will feel so hopeless that
they will give up dieting
altogether!
One reason why low calorie dieting isn’t very
helpful is because it causes your body to be undernourished.
You will experience tiredness, sickness, and a lack of
energy. Because of this, you won’t feel like exercising or
doing your regular daily activities! Your metabolism will be
too low, which will make it more difficult for you to lose
weight in the future.
If you want to lose weight with success, you need
to keep in mind the following:
-Calories AREN’T bad!
If you try
low calorie dieting, you will be depriving your body of
nutrients and energy. Your body needs adequate food to keep
your metabolism going. Weight loss can only happen if your
metabolism is efficient!
The “bad” calories are the ones that come from
unhealthy fats and junk foods. You won’t gain any fat if you
eat ten pieces of fruit each day. You will, however, gain
fat if you eat ten pieces of pizza! Thus, gaining or losing
weight isn’t about how much you eat; it’s about WHAT you
eat.
Junk foods have empty calories. You need to cut
down on it and substitute it with fruits and vegetables.
However, you shouldn’t eat ONLY fruits and vegetables, since
that would be calorie dieting. You need to add other healthy
foods to your diet as well. Replacing bad foods with good
foods is what you must do in order to lose weight in a
healthy way.
-Bodybuilding is very
important.
Your muscles burn up a lot of calories on their
own. What this means is, if you have a lot of lean muscles,
you will be able to slim down more quickly! Thus, it’s
essential that you eat a lot of nutrients that are rich in
protein, as protein will help build lean muscles. You should
also exercise more.
Yet another advantage of eating a lot of protein
is this: you won’t feel hungry as much as usual, which means
you will be less likely to binge. When you are low calorie
dieting, you are unable to build muscles. Instead, you end
up losing them! If your body doesn’t have a sufficient
amount of lean muscles, it’s unable to burn up fat. This is
why
low calorie diets are a bad idea!
Many low calorie diets will only aid you in losing
muscles and water. Don’t make the mistake of thinking you
are losing pounds or fat---you are not. Instead, focus on a
diet that involves eating a lot of healthy foods rather than
junk food.
