Drastic Weight Loss - Why You Should Avoid Fad Diets That Provide Unhealthy Results

drastic weight lossDrastic weight loss is something that many people are obsessed with. They want to lose as much weight as they can, although the odds are against them. Very few people stick with a diet long enough to achieve the results they want. Those that do go right back to their old, unhealthy eating habits in no time, which results in them gaining all the weight back.

A lot of diets don’t do any good. They simply mislead those who are desperate and frustrated and want to lose a lot of weight quickly. Programs that promise drastic weight loss within a short amount of time should be avoided. While they certainly can provide results, they do so in an unhealthy and unrealistic way.

Fad diets have always been very popular. It seems like a new one pops up on a daily basis. Sometimes they cause people go cut down on their calories so much that they go into starvation mode! This can obviously lead to anorexia, not to mention it can cause many health problems. Depriving the body of food means starving the vital organs. Sure, you could become very slim due to drastic weight loss, but you will become sick from it. Once you start eating again, the weight will just come right back!

You will have a difficult time committing to the diet after awhile. Once the side effects of starvation start showing up, you won’t be able to continue on with the dieting. The weight will eventually come back, and then what? Are you going to go on another fad diet? This type of yo-yo dieting will do more harm than good overtime. Likewise, you should be careful with weight loss supplements. Never rely on pills to help you lose weight. If you are really interested in drastic weight loss, you need to visit a dietician or a doctor and ask for advice and guidance.

A lot of these unhealthy programs try to attract customers by showing examples of people who have supposedly lost weight from that particular diet. These are almost always misleading, and in some cases, even fraudulent! An individual really might have lost a lot of weight, but all of his or her success should be contributed to that particular diet plan. With that said, never take any testimonials you read at face value.

Many people receive assistance and guidance from a personal trainer. This is something you may want to consider if you have the money to hire one. A fitness trainer will create a workout plan that works just for you! You won’t be allowed to be lazy with a personal trainer on your back all the time. You may even experience some drastic weight loss if you work out enough. However, make sure you eat enough calories so that you don’t burn too many off.

How did you gain weight in the first place? More than likely, it was from a result of eating too much unhealthy food and not exercising. Thus, the right diet will be one that is just the opposite. It will reverse the bad results of your bad habits into positive results. You can achieve positive results by maintaining healthy habits and turning your lifestyle around. It might take some time for fat to go away in unwanted areas, but it will in time as long as you keep up with your improved eating habits and exercising. The value of all of this hard work and motivation is undermined by unhealthy programs that promise drastic weight loss in ways that are not safe.
